Rhode Island-Based IT Staffing Firm Expands New England Presence Through Acquisition of Professional Search Firm

Bridge Technical Talent Acquires Rhode Island Firm BPS Becker Professional Search, Inc.

2013-06-19
EAST GREENWICH, RI, June 19, 2013 (Press-News.org) Bridge Technical Talent, a Rhode Island-based Information Technology staffing firm, announces today that it has acquired BPS Becker Professional Search, Inc.

The acquisition of BPS is part of an overall growth strategy for Bridge. Having made Inc. Magazine's and Providence Business News' Fastest-Growing lists in recent years and having strategically worked to increase its presence in Massachusetts, Bridge has attained a broader base of MA clients through this acquisition, which dovetails with its expanding recruiting capacity and presence throughout New England.

The purchase of BPS expands Bridge's already-robust contract IT staffing division, providing Bridge with new large MA clients that will complement its base of regional and national contract staffing accounts.

Bridge has been growing organically since 2008 at an average annual growth rate of over 35%. Late last year, the Bridge Partners, James Wright and Joe Devine, made the decision to grow the company in 2013 through acquisition. Their criteria were to stay true to Bridge's focus on Information Technology staffing, achieve expansion of geographic coverage, and acquire a firm with reciprocal values, an aligned business philosophy, and a similar approach to providing relationship-driven IT staffing services.

"For Bridge, BPS was the right acquisition partner. BPS has built a solid reputation for consultative IT staffing and has cultivated excellent client and candidate relationships in Rhode Island and Massachusetts," says Mr. Wright. "Bridge prides itself on long-term relationship building over short-term transactions, and BPS has a skilled team with the same principles, ensuring a fluid integration."

Susan Becker of BPS is excited about the acquisition: "Bridge Technical Talent's values and company-style closely align with those of BPS. I am confident that our clients and employees are in good hands with Bridge."

Adds Mr. Devine, "BPS' business development efforts had begun to outpace their ability to fulfill client staffing requirements. Bridge has developed a talented and growing recruiting team that will allow us to improve fulfillment rates with BPS' clients while offering our candidates even more quality job opportunities. The BPS relationship database will also expand Bridge's candidate network, increasing our fulfillment rate for existing customers. Overall, we anticipate many satisfied clients and candidates as a result of this acquisition."
