ST. PETERSBURG, FL, June 26, 2013 (Press-News.org) World of Beer (WOB) a thriving beer-centric tavern boasting an extensive collection of beers from around the globe, will expand into Ann Arbor, MI at 1300 S. University Ave on July 1, 2013. This is World of Beer's 42nd location, and its first location in Michigan. WOB Ann Arbor will boast over 500 bottles of beer and 40 rotating taps.
WOB Ann Arbor is located in the new Landmark Building, a 14-story residential complex. The 3,000 sq ft location is near the South University Corridor on the University of Michigan campus, and boasts a 400 sq ft patio. This location will partner with local restaurants such as No Thai!, Mr. Spot's, Maize and Blue Delicatessen, and Belly Deli. Food delivery from these restaurants is available to all patrons.
"We are so excited to introduce Michigan, a state with such a high number of local breweries, to World of Beer," said Chad Wilson, owner of WOB Ann Arbor. "We couldn't be happier that this adventure is beginning in Ann Arbor!"
With 50 years of combined experience in the hospitality industry, Wilson and co-owner Steve Rossi are very excited to be a part of the World of Beer family. They look forward to bringing WOB culture to Ann Arbor and will celebrate opening day with a charity event supporting the local Ronald McDonald House. Guests will also be entertained with live music throughout the evening.
World of Beer's ongoing events include monthly brewery nights and spotlights, tap takeovers and beer-centric events celebrating American Craft Beer Week, Dogfish Head Shark Attack, WOBtoberfest and more.
Happy Hour will be held Monday through Friday from 3-7pm. Weekly promotions include, Monday: Service Industry Night with half off all drafts from open-close, Wednesday: WOB University Night with half off all drafts for faculty and students from open-close and Thursday: Ladies' Night with half off select drafts and wines from open-close. Live music will be featured Thursday - Saturday.
The 'WOB Culture' is unlike any other. The specially trained staff completes an extensive, two-week beer school, and are on-hand to guide customers through the World of Beer experience centered around a global menu of beverages, tavern fare, live music and televised sports.
WOB rewards its customers by offering a Loyalty Club Program that enables them to earn points on trying different beers. Guests earn one point for every different beer purchased at WOB, gaining them access, appreciation and rewards. The program is available to all guests, and is easily accessible through the WOB app (available for iPhone and Android smartphones). It's WOB culture in the palm of your hand.
