Chef Crooks recommends waiting for the water to come out of mushrooms so that they caramelize better.

Building this masterpiece takes several steps. First a burger patty is placed on the bun. It is topped with cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, and bacon. Next the mac n' cheese patty is added and finished off with smoked ketchup. Finally, top it off with the top of the bun.
The last burger showcased by the article is the Naked Veggie Burger. This option appeals to vegetarians as it contains no meat. The patty is made from chickpeas, parsley, and other spices. It is topped with hummus and Tzatziki-style yogurt sauce. Consumers can also place lettuce, tomato, and onion on top.
