Empowering Minds and Martin Sheen Highlight How Community Colleges Are Preparing Tomorrow's Leaders for the Transition to Four-Year Universities

Institutions are preparing Americans for the workplace...

2013-06-27
WEST PALM BEACH, FL, June 27, 2013 (Press-News.org) Community colleges have always been a critical component of our educational infrastructure. These institutions provide educational services for nearly half of all undergraduate college attendees in America, and typically create easier transitions to post-secondary Universities. The key objective is the preparation of a student for the transition to a four-year institution.

Furthermore, community colleges provide workplace development and special training options, while simultaneously providing a diverse spectrum of classes that range from nursing to music.

The ups and downs of our ever changing economy are driving change in our country, and there is a serious need to provide the necessary education to empower students with proper training to affect the workforce and our struggling economy. Whether it's taking on another language or training to meet the demands of the changing medical sector, Empowering Minds and Martin Sheen will be there to highlight the advancements shaping our educational future. Recent studies have shown that many of the new opportunities that will be available in the workplace in 2013-2015 are going to require an adequate post-secondary degree. Additional reports further indicate that career options are constantly changing. As such, many employers are looking in new directions and creating different strategies...geared towards students that are most likely to finish their education.

Without these colleges, many students would not have access to a wide variety of educational options that will help equip our future workforce with the proper tools to compete for jobs in the private and public sectors. These community colleges are often a great launching point for students seeking to expand their horizons, with educational options that can affect economic change in our nation.
