NEW YORK, NY, June 27, 2013 (Press-News.org) Thousands of buyers and foodies alike will embark upon the 2013 Summer Fancy Foods Show in New York this summer to seek out what's new in the industry. While there is little doubt they'll see many varieties of the same style of foods they have seen in years past, one small company is looking to change up their thinking as to what a relish is, or could be.
Launching just over one year ago, Slawsa can now be found in over 4,200 grocery retailers nationwide, from gourmet shops to mainstream retailers. The innovative, primarily cabbage-based, relish described as a cross between a 'slaw' and 'salsa' is a must-have for grilling, tailgating and everyday home use as a new must-have in the condiment shelf of refrigerators across America.
"Slawsa couldn't be a more perfect fit for the summer show, because we're seeing an increasing demand for people to add the unusually flavorful to their condiment repertoire during the summer grilling and fall tailgating events. You just can't get by with the old staples anymore and expect anyone take notice. When was the last time you were complimented on your condiments?" asked Nicole Foods owner, Julie Busha. "I assure you, your guests will take notice of Slawsa and it wont' take long for the jar to be polished off."
The Summer Fancy Foods Show will take place from June 30th through July 2nd at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. Slawsa will be wowing taste buds in booth 5006.
Recently transitioning its entire line to All-Natural and kosher certified, Slawsa has always been a healthier condiment alternative as it is fat-free, cholesterol-free, Gluten-free and contains far less sodium as more traditional toppers. Original and Spicy flavors have been on the market over a year now and the company recently added two more flavors last month: Garlic and Garlic Spicy, due to increased demand.
"The experienced buyer is looking for something unique to the category and Slawsa is certainly proud to be the black sheep of the relish section, in a far more versatile way," says Busha. Slawsa is ideal to top hot dogs, brats, hamburgers, pork and fish yet is versatile as a sandwich spread, atop eggs or as a dip for tortilla chips.
