2013-06-27
MILPITAS, CA, June 27, 2013 (Press-News.org) Redfish participated in the Bike to Work Day Employer/Workplace Challenge in 2012 and 2013, winning first place both years in the small employer category. "We are proud of our 100% participation," said Heidi Clark, CHO (Chief Humanities Officer). "Redfish always loves a challenge, and an excuse to get after it!"

"Redfish Technology rallied again, dropping kids off at school and heading to the office on bikes," said Greg Schreiner, Tech Recruitment Manager who showed up on a cruiser pulling his double bicycle trailer.

Bike to Work day was a huge success in the Wood River Valley despite the rain. "We weren't going to let a few raindrops change the plan," affirmed Jon Piggins, Sales & Marketing Recruiter at Redfish. "That's just how we roll!"

There were several different categories this year. The 2013 Winners are:
5-10 employees - Redfish Technology in Hailey with 100% participation
11-40 employees - Eye Safety Systems in Sun Valley with 71% participation
41 employees & up - SCOTT USA in Ketchum with 100% participation
Government Category - Ketchum Ranger Station with 57% participation
Honorable Mention: Neel Ratliff & Co., Marketron, Rocky Mountain Hardware, Smith Optics and Wood River YMCA.

Mountain Rides, organizer of the event, thanked the sponsors who set up stations along the Wood River Trail: Power Engineers, Rocky Mountain Hardware, Sun Summit South, BCRD, Marketron, Wood River Bike Coalition, Smith Optics, Formula Sports, Sturtevant's, Scott USA, St. Luke's Wood River, Pete Lane's Sun Valley, Higher Ground, Pact, ERC, Pioneer Montessori and the Wood River YMCA.

Participants were given items from coffee and treats to sunglasses, t-shirts, stickers, patch kits, and chain lube. Despite the rain, the Bike to Work and Bike to School Day challenges doubled the participation this year. Kudos to Mountain Rides, sponsors, and participants!
