Santa Comes to Town & Families are Invited to Tweet Their Holiday Wish List to Montgomery Mall's Santa

Santa Comes to the Montgomery Mall on Friday, Nov. 5, 2010

2010-11-04
NORTH WALES, PA, November 04, 2010 (Press-News.org) The Montgomery Mall will be hosting a variety of special events to celebrate the 2010 holiday season. Beginning on Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, Santa will arrive at the mall and a Tweet Your Holiday Wish List to Santa program will commence.

The mall will host its annual Santa Arrival Parade starting at 6 p.m. outside of the Salsa's Mexican Grill entrance where Santa will climb aboard a Montgomery Township Fire Department fire truck. He will ride around the mall's perimeter accompanied by the Montgomery Township Police Department and mall security officers. The parade will end at the LensCrafters mall entrance where Santa will descend from the fire truck, enter the mall for an indoor parade, and find his way to the Santa set in the mall's Elevator Court. Radio Disney and costumed characters will keep guests entertained at the mall's Sears Court until 8 p.m. Santa will be available to visit and get photos taken with local families and children throughout the holiday season.

The mall will also launch a Tweet Your Holiday Wish List to Santa program on Nov. 5. Parents are welcome to sit down with their kids and tweet Santa their child's holiday wish list. This is a Web 2.0 alternative to writing Santa a tradition wish list letter and mailing it to the North Pole. In addition, by utilizing the social media tool, parents can research which Montgomery Mall stores carry the toy or gift that they are looking to purchase for their child or family. Simply login to the website http://www.twitter.com and write a tweet to Santa at @MontgoMallSanta.

During the holiday season, the mall will also offer charity gift wrapping services, and two Pet Photo Nights with Santa, among other festive events.

- Pet Photo Nights with Santa (Nov. 21 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Dec. 12 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.): Community members are invited to bring their dogs and cats to the mall's Elevator Court to be photographed with Santa. All event participants should use the mall entrance between Macy's and JCPenney when arriving with pets.

- Chanukah Event (Dec. 1 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm): Area residents are welcome to celebrate the festival of lights in the mall's JCPenney Court with music, crafts and activities.

- Holiday Gift Wrapping Station (Dec. 3 - 24): Shoppers are welcome to use the charity gift wrapping services located on the mall's lower level near Sears and the Santa set. Proceeds will directly benefit the Arc of Montgomery, Berks and Bucks Counties and Simon Youth Foundation. See http://www.shopmontgomerymall.com for gift wrapping hours.

About Montgomery Mall: Montgomery Mall is located at the intersection of Routes 202 and 309 in North Wales, Pa. Montgomery Mall is a regional mall anchored by Macy's, JCPenney, and Sears and has over 150 shops and services.
