Corky's Catering Helps Put the Chocolate in Hot Chocolate Run
Another year and another Hot Chocolate 5k/15k is just around the corner. Having grown vastly in popularity since last year, Corky's Catering again takes on the challenge of serving the over 30,000 registered participants.

This Saturday, November 6th, Chicago runners are gearing up for this weekend's annual Hot Chocolate Run. This fast growing event has been gaining popularity over the past few years, tripling in size from last year and reaching its registration capacity of 30,000 participants in early October. In 2009 the event still garnered an impressive 10,000 runners.The popularity of the Hot Chocolate Run can be attributed to the event's fun and spirited nature in which partakers get to enjoy a beautiful course and an even more delightful post-race experience. The event is to feature a number of different vendors and event entertainment, and perhaps the most eagerly awaited prize, chocolate, and lots of it!
Corky's Catering, who has worked the event previously, will now be serving up over 140,000 ounces of Chocolate Fondue to attendees at the event, as well as 210,000 ounces of Ghirardelli Hot Chocolate. 150,000 pieces of Ghirardelli chocolate will be given out and another 10,000 pounds of Ghirardelli chocolate will be melted for the after party. "We did it last year and had a ton of fun," said Corky's Catering marketing manager, Matthew Green, "everybody loves chocolate and it encourages people to get out and get moving. We're happy to reward participants for all of their hard work and excited about the challenge of helping service such a great event."
The Hot Chocolate 5k/15k is a family-friendly event for walkers, runners and chocolate lovers alike. In addition to an abundance of delicious Ghirardelli Chocolate, the event will feature entertainment from premier Chicago band, Maggie Speaks, as well as stilt walkers, face painting, magicians and much more.
