He is a Raleigh native with degrees in both business management and economics from N.C. State University. The May 22 Band Together NC concert event featuring Michael Franti & Spearhead helped raise more than $358,000 for StepUP Ministry, an interfaith nonprofit organization that teaches low-income and homeless people to become self-sufficient. Since 2001, the organization has raised more than $1 million for local charities.
"It's hard for me to imagine the great success we've achieved over the years without Trey's contributions and hard work," said Danny Rosin, president of Band Together NC. "His enthusiasm for music and helping others is contagious, and I know he will be a great asset to our board."
Band Together NC is in the process of selecting its charity partners for both 2011 and 2012, and will announce its choices sometime this fall.
