DataMentors receives SAS 70 and SSAE 16 Certifications

DataMentors, a Data Quality Solutions Company, receives SAS 70 and SSAE 16 Security Certifications.

2010-11-10
TAMPA, FL, November 10, 2010 (Press-News.org) DataMentors LLC, a full-service Data Quality and Data Integration Solutions Company, today announced the completion of its fourth Statement of Auditing Standard Number 70 (SAS 70 Type II) certification for Service Organizations and the newly released Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16 (SSAE 16 Type 2) certification.

SAS 70 certification, a widely recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), validates the reliability, scalability, security and processing integrity of DataMentors' managed hosting and dedicated hosting services. The SSAE 16, which will replace the SAS 70 by mid-2011, complies with the same rigorous standards as the SAS 70, but additionally addresses international standards due to the globalization of information technology and business process outsourcing. SSAE 16 also requires written assertions as to the service organization's systems and the internal controls over financial reporting.

SAS 70 CPA, one of the nation's leading SAS 70 auditing firms, examined DataMentors' physical and environmental controls, organizational structure, administration policies, and security measures. The SAS 70 and SSAE 16 certifications demonstrate that DataMentors complies with rigorous controls and safeguards when hosting or processing customer data.

This is a significant achievement for DataMentors as it validates the company's security and functional procedures and protocols. "SAS 70 and SSAE 16 certifications generate a high level of confidence in DataMentors' security and operational controls. It is very important to us that our clients trust us to securely maintain the integrity of their data, knowing we have their best interests in mind," said Bob Orf, DataMentors' CEO.

Steve Smith, DataMentors' Director of IT says, "The SAS 70 and SSAE 16 reports provide companies that are considering DataMentors' service solutions a viable alternative to conducting their own testing, which results in considerable savings in both time and costs. DataMentors has chosen to be an early adopter of the new SSAE 16 Type 2 audit to emphasize our goal of having the strictest of control environments."
