Woman Named Young Professional of the Year by Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce

ROCHESTER, MI, November 11, 2010 (Press-News.org) The Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of the fourth annual Sunrise Pinnacle Awards Oct. 28 at the Royal Park Hotel in downtown Rochester. An estimated 500 people were in attendance.

The 2010 Young Professional of the Year Award, sponsored by Franklin Title, LLC, was given to Andrea Walker. This award is given to an individual under 40 years of age who shows an outstanding level of achievement, commitment and presence in the Greater Rochester community.

Walker is owner of Walker PWS, LLC. Launched in 2007, the company offers media and publicity assistance to small businesses. Walker also assists many local nonprofit organizations including Rochester Community House, Rochester Women's Fund and Rochester Rotary.

Along with managing her company, Walker is also the managing editor of Community Lifestyles Newspaper and writes regularly with several Detroit area magazines and fashion blogs. A graduate of Rochester College, Walker lives and breathes Oakland County and Metro Detroit.

"It is such an honor to be named Young Professional of the Year," said Walker. "There are so many under 40 who are doing great things in this community, to be awarded at 28 is truly thanks to the many amazing businesses, nonprofits and individuals in this community I am privileged to work with."

The Sunrise Pinnacle Awards honored 22 winners that included local businesses, nonprofit organizations and outstanding community citizens. Only in its fourth year, Sunrise Pinnacle has become one of the most encompassing and prestigious award ceremonies in the Metro Detroit area. The winners were announced by well known WXYZ-TV Channel 7 anchorman Dave LewAllen.

The winners received an award and a "Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition" from Congressman Gary C. Peters in appreciation of outstanding and invaluable service to the community.
