Florida Private Christian Academy Planning Expansion to Middle School

Local Gulf Breeze Private Christian School is planning an expansion this upcoming fall to facilitate middle school.

2010-11-11
GULF BREEZE, FL, November 11, 2010 (Press-News.org) Lighthouse Private Christian Academy located in Gulf Breeze, Florida is planning an expansion this fall that will enable them to offer middle school classes. The Academy began in 2005 after Hurricane Ivan and now operates with over 10,000 square feet of beautiful facilities. The kindergarten through 6th grade classes are located within the actual grounds of the Gulf Breeze Zoo. The preschool is located just adjacent to the Zoo. It is the only non-denominational Christian School in the area that educates students on the core beliefs of Christianity and instills conservative founding-father American values.

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy (LPCA) is a fully accredited by the prestigious Christian Schools of Florida and is a Gold Seal Provider with the state of Florida which indicates a superior level of childcare. The school focuses on strong, targeted academics the first half of the day. The afternoon allows children to choose among various learning centers whereby hands-on learning is used to teach the lessons. On Thursdays, the children are taken through the zoo where they will focus on zoology, biology, geography and a special Chapel time focusing on appreciation for God. "It is a very unique learning environment that teaches children to respect and preserve our planet" says Joanna Morris, Founder and Head of School.

Joanna made the decision to start the school upon identifying a need for quality, Christian education in the area after facing the devastation of Hurricane Ivan in 2004. As the owner of an auditing company with many years of business experience, Joanna was able to dedicate herself to getting the school started. As the children grow, the school grows. "Every year, we are adding a new grade as the children get older. We are currently providing VPK through 6th grade, and as we add middle school grades, we are going to need more space for our children and teachers. The expansion will enable us to continue offering a conservative Christian education to our students in the Gulf Breeze and Navarre area."

The conservative-Christian education is what sets the school apart from most. As board member Brad Riley tells us, "All of the values that my family and I cherish...Christianity, as well as conservative American beliefs based on founding-father principals, are all but lost in public schools. I am delighted to send my son to a school that still has the flexibility to teach the core values that we instill in our children at home."

LPCA is a 501C3 organization which means that any donations made to the school are tax-deductible. Organizations such as LPCA survive on the donations from supporters. "We rely heavily on the contributions from our supporters nationwide to provide the finest educational environment for our students. The generosities from individuals and organizations enable us to continue the development of the best school in Northwest Florida. We need immediate support to continue to provide and improve this environment for our children, the future conservative leaders of tomorrow."

Planning and construction for the fall expansion is already underway. If you would like to support the vision of LPCA by making a tax-deductible contribution, please contact: Joanna Morris at 850-261-3668 or visit http://lighthousepca.com
