NEW YORK, NY, November 11, 2010 (Press-News.org) Icosahedron Gallery located in the heart of West Chelsea's Art District is pleased to present their November exhibition, "Cryptical Envelopment", which features a collective of nine artists, Mistica Caravaggi, Robert Berry, Jos Biviano, Judith Lane-Ewing, Sharon Quirke, Josep Frances, Jack Cymber, Chris Cole, and Blake. Each artist, a visionary in his own medium, inspires and leads the abstract art world tied together through all of their vibrant, compelling, and evocative aesthetics.
Each artist exhibits a particular skill through the harmonious luminosity which shines light on the spectrum of abstract art. Resident artists, Mistica Caravaggi and Robert Berry, are just two prime example of these beacons leading the art world. Mistica Caravaggi's paintings draw their viewers into a world of macabre and dark dwellings through thought-provoking subject matter and a complexity of the human mind that leaves one transfixed, stopped in their tracks. Whereas, Robert Berry's work exhibits illustrious color patterns and geometric poetic lines which are reminiscent of the works of Mondrian and Rothko. Both artists, Caravaggi and Berry, create art that are eternal timepieces for the contemporary art world.
Leading the world of abstract landscape art, Jos Biviano, Judith Lane-Ewing, and Sharon Quirke are visionary pedestals in their respective art forms. American landscape painter, Jos Biviano, explores a world that was once untouched, unspoiled, and unprovoked by human contact. Biviano creates a world that we as humans have never seen, yet have envisioned through his ephemeral color, texture, and surreptitious juxtaposition of light and dark qualities. Another landscape artist, Judith Lane-Ewing, is a counterpart of perfection to Biviano's work exemplifying contrasts of light and dark subject matter and color scheme through her haunting landscapes that leave viewers feeling broken yet, hopeful. On the other hand, Sharon Quirke's vibrant use of color in her landscape work sheds light and mysticism through the contours of her lines. The work of Sharon Quirke uses her home's surroundings of rock quarries as inspiration to transport viewers to a jungle-esque world of color, fluidity, and pure perfection.
Delving deeper into the world of landscape art, Josep Frances uses fragmented urban landscapes combined with intricate webs of complex linearity to seduce bystanders and transport them to the world of the artist's imaginative mind. Frances's work are a complex equation of geometry and genuine artistic ability.
At the other end of the spectrum of Architecture, lies the work of Jack Cymber who is showcasing his Kabbalistic inspired works piecing together various textures, Hebrew lettering, and rich color saturation. Cymber's works are an abstract mixed media series centered around the "The Four Worlds or Heavens" in Kabbalah. These four pieces bring together worlds that are unseen to each every one of its onlookers.
"Cryptical Envelopment" also features sculptors, Chris Cole and Blake. Chris Cole's use of machinery, gears, and alloys to create an interactive metallic sculpture is reminiscent of the steam punk genre yet, offers a sense of play and bewilderment. Blake, who is a DLC Fine Art artist, has three pieces on display of beautifully crafted bronze classical works.
