Branch Water Tavern Open for Thanksgiving

On the Menu: Post-Modern Thanksgiving Dinner, Family Style

2010-11-12
HOUSTON, TX, November 12, 2010 (Press-News.org) Announcing open competition with your Aunt Louise, Branch Water Tavern is hosting a multi-course, pass-the-green-beans-please, family style Thanksgiving dinner created by exec chef and owner David Grossman.

"First courses will include your choice of roasted beet salad with Humboldt blue fog cheese, arugula and candied pistachios; vegetable and mixed green salad with herb vinaigrette; or our white bean soup with braised kale and pancetta," says Grossman. And that's just for starters.

Following first courses, a roasted organic free range turkey will serve as the main dish, accompanied by roasted prime ribeye or suckling porchetta. Then there's family-style sides like oyster stuffing, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, mac and cheese and more. Top it all off with a pecan pie with housemade bourbon ice cream; whipped cream-topped pumpkin pie; or an all-American apple pie, topped with housemade cinnamon ice cream.

"Best of all," says Grossman, "you won't have to help with the dishes once you're through."

Dinner is $40 per adult, and $20 per child 12 and under, and will be available from 11am to 6pm on Thanksgiving Day. Call 713-863-7777 for reservations.
