KEF T Series Flat Panel Speakers Win 2011 CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award

New T Series Combines the Ultra-Thin Profile of Flat Panel Speakers with the High Definition Detail, Bass and Dynamic Range Performance of High Quality Audiophile Speakers

2010-11-12
HOLLYWOOD, FL, November 12, 2010 (Press-News.org) KEF, the renowned manufacturer of innovative, reference-quality loudspeakers, has been named an International CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award Honoree for the new T Series, a flat panel speaker range designed to complement today's stylish flat panel televisions and offer serious audiophile quality sound from exceptionally thin speakers. As one of the world's thinnest high performance home theater and flat panel audio systems, the T Series was selected by CES Innovations judges as one of this year's best in the category of "Home Theater Speakers."

The new T Series combines two landmark KEF innovations: a radical new ultra-low profile bass and midrange driver, and a large, fully vented new tweeter. Both the drivers and tweeter are incorporated into cabinets only 35mm deep, delivering true high-fidelity sound in a thin speaker that perfectly complements the aesthetics of the latest flat screen TVs. Sweet and pure midrange performance is assured by a new large diaphragm tweeter developed directly from the Concept Blade loudspeaker project.

Judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the media, the CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards recognize the industry's most outstanding products across 35 product categories, including home theater speakers.

"KEF designed the T Series to deliver the best in form and function in a low-profile, ultra-thin flat panel speaker," said Alec Chanin, president of KEF America. "Incorporating a low driver-build height equal to most flat panel TVs with KEF's renowned sound performance, the T Series is the perfect flat panel loudspeaker for any audio demand or entertainment setting."

The T Series also features KEF's innovative Selecta-mount system which uses a clever internal connecting system to automatically adjust the crossover depending on how the loudspeaker is mounted, giving users the freedom to place the loudspeakers wherever they want and still enjoy great sound.

The T Series flat panel speaker lineup includes three system components which make up a series of carefully constructed complete system configurations.

The T Series will be featured at the Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase in the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center during the 2011 International CES, held January 6-9 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The T Series will also be featured at CES Unveiled: The Official Press Event of the International CES on Tuesday, January 4.
