Customer Magnetism Supports ForKids Thanksgiving Dinner Drive

Search engine marketing agency commits to help at least 50 families in Hampton Roads, Virginia.

2010-11-12
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA, November 12, 2010 (Press-News.org) Customer Magnetism is participating this week in the ForKids Thanksgiving Dinner Drive. The search engine optimization agency has committed to supplying at least 50 dinners for the cause, which helps families with children fighting homelessness and poverty in the Hampton Roads region of Southeastern Virginia.

"ForKids is planning to provide at least 400 Thanksgiving dinners this year and we wanted to be a part of this." said Aaron Leslie, president of Customer Magnetism. "Our goal for 2011 is to help out at least one local charity or non-profit organization each month."

The dinner packages contain items from a designated list provided by ForKids. They are mostly of non-perishable items, including cranberry sauce, stuffing mix, canned vegetables and boxed desserts. Other items, such as aluminum roasting pans, plastic wrap, dishwashing liquid and paper towels, will help the families in meal preparation and clean-up on Thanksgiving Day. Many employees are personally volunteering to furnish items on the list for several packages. Overall, Customer Magnetism and employees will be supplying a minimum of 50 dinners, to include gift cards for the purchase of turkeys.

The Virginia Beach search engine marketing agency's staff will assemble the items in baskets and deliver them to the Norfolk collection center next week. Some of them, to include Leslie, will be volunteering to help ForKids, either by handing out the dinners or by sorting food donated by other groups.

"Our employees are very enthusiastic about the project," said Leslie. "Shortly after the announcement, staff members were already inquiring about how they could help. We really want to see ForKids reach their goal of 400 this year."

The Thanksgiving Dinner Drive is just one of many programs ForKids has implemented in the area with support from local businesses and individuals. Others include Hot Meals & Homework, health care, daycare, emergency shelters and temporary homes. During the past 20 years, 1,200 families with 3,000 children have been transitioned from being homeless to being self-sufficient with help from ForKids.
