ICDC College will recognize over 2,000 graduates at its 15th Commencement Ceremony to be held on Saturday, November 13 at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills, CA. ICDC is a Los Angeles-based college accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), providing career training and education to students both on campus and online. (http://www.icdccollege.edu)The ceremony will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. and will include graduates from ICDC College's campuses located in Los Angeles, Huntington Park, Van Nuys and Lawndale, as well as online graduates located throughout the United States.
Actor/Writer/Director Todd Bridges will offer a keynote speech during the ceremony. Bridges has recently been named the official spokesperson for ICDC College's Alcohol and Drug Counseling (ADC) program. Bridges, who recently penned an autobiography about his drug addiction and road to recovery, will discuss the pivotal role that counseling played in his recovery and throughout his 18 years of sobriety. In his role as ICDC's ADC program spokesperson, Bridges will also spend time speaking to ICDC College's Alcohol and Drug Counseling program students in the classroom.
"Mr. Bridges' story will serve as a reminder to our ADC program graduates about the power that they now have to help change people's lives," said Lisa L. McGloiry, J.D., ICDC College's Director of Media Relations and Community Outreach. "His story is also a message to all of us about overcoming challenges and pursuing dreams."
Los Angeles County Sheriff Leroy Baca, who serves Director of Homeland Security Mutual Aid for California, will also address the graduating class. Approximately 11% of the fall 2010 graduating class will be receiving a degree or diploma from ICDC College's Homeland Security and Investigation program. The program trains graduates for careers within various government and law enforcement agencies. The Homeland Security and Investigation program is growing rapidly due to interest from veterans returning home from active duty who desire vocational training to enter the job market in a reasonable timeframe after serving in the military.
"As an Institution of Higher Learning and recognized as a 2011 Military Friendly School, ICDC College is honored to be part of a solution for veterans, military service members and for all our students who are looking to make a better life for themselves through education and career training" says David Hall, ICDC College's Regional Director and ICDC's Veteran Certifying Official.
