IndigoH2O Announces Acceptance of Bitcoin for Purchase of Premium Alkaline Water

IndigoH2O today announced the company will accept Bitcoin in payment for its bottled water products; company officials believe IndigoH2O to be the first in their industry to accept the controversial currency

2014-02-19
BUCHANAN, MI, February 19, 2014 (Press-News.org) Officials of Glacier Bottling Company, L.L.C., makers of IndigoH2O Premium Bottled Alkaline Mineral Water today announced they would accept the controversial digital currency for purchase of their bottled water on the website indigoh2o.com with transactions processed by CoinBase, the payment platform.

"Today we proudly announce that IndigoH2O is officially the first bottled water to accept Bitcoin as a payment option." said Yuri Cataldo, president and CEO of Glacier Bottling Company. "It is an ideal currency for online shopping as it doesn't have the same risks associated with using your credit cards and it will give our customers from all over the world another payment method for our premium alkaline mineral water."

Jeffery Antisdel, Chief Technology Officer of Precept Partners, Glacier's Internet developers added, "We've been watching the development of Bitcoin as an alternative currency, and see IndigoH2O's decision to accept it as evidence of their willingness to use emerging technologies to better serve their customers."

Cataldo explained, "While it's not without its growing pains, there is a clear trend that Bitcoin is gaining more acceptance and becoming more mainstream. The companies Overstock.com, Tigerdirect.com, Virgin Galactic, Wordpress, The Pirate Bay, Reddit, and Zynga announce that they will accept Bitcoin. We believe others will follow in the upcoming months and years." As the author, James Altucher puts it, "Bitcoin is the first 'choose yourself' currency. Bitcoin has many features that make it attractive not only as a potential future currency but as a replacement for all contract law. In one swoop, any economy that takes up Bitcoin as a currency will rewrite all contract law will eliminate the need for exchanges, and make international trade infinitely simpler."
