Mercury Payment Systems Hires Andrew Patterson as Chief Technology Officer

Patterson brings years of upper-management experience and deep technological expertise to the position

DURANGO, CO, February 20, 2014 (Press-News.org) Mercury Payment Systems LLC, a leading payment technology and service provider for small to mid-sized businesses, announced today the appointment of Andrew Patterson to the position of Chief Technology Officer.

In his role, Patterson will be responsible for software engineering, technology infrastructure, business intelligence, quality assurance, and architecture for the organization. With over a decade of technology and management experience, Patterson brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role as CTO at Mercury.

"It's not every day that you find a person with this level of experience and skill set that so closely matches our hopes for this position," said Matt Taylor, CEO of Mercury Payment Systems. "Andrew's excitement for the future of the payments industry is motivating, and we are thrilled to have him join our team."

Prior to his role at Mercury, Patterson served as the vice president of payments software and emerging products for Moneris Solutions Inc., Canada's leading payments acquirer. While there, he personally led a number of key technology initiatives, including the design and development of many of their products and processing systems. Prior to this role, he was the director of software development at the same company. Patterson earned his B.S. from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and his MBA from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
