MIAMI, FL, February 20, 2014 (Press-News.org) CARTA is honoring FIU Interior Architecture alumna, Marlene Liriano '89, and Vice President and Director of Interior Design for HOK's Florida Practice, with the Distinguished Alumni Award at FIU's thirteenth annual Torch Awards Gala on Saturday March 8th, 2014. The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes alumni who have brought honor and distinction to the university through their notable record of service and achievement in a particular discipline, organization or cause.
As Vice President and Director of Interior Design for HOK, Liriano, has designed and delivered successful projects for Fortune 500 Companies such as HBO Latin America, Perry Ellis International, Microsoft and American Airlines. For nearly three decades, Liriano has successfully delivered innovative and thoughtful design solutions that exceed her client's expectations.
Her work has perpetuated a tradition of insight, cultivated a spirit of team collaboration and promoted thought leadership resulting in multiple design awards, including the Award of Excellence for Interior Design, from the Miami Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), two Sandi Awards from the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) for Design of Excellence/Healthcare Design 2012 and the Project of the Year 2013, for her excellence in leadership and notable architecture and interior design.
