2014-02-21
HOUSTON, TX, February 21, 2014 (Press-News.org) Texas company Independent Contract Packaging (ICP) has been recommended for certification to ISO 9001:2008. The achievement was made possible with ISO 9001 consulting services from Qualaco, a consulting firm based in Houston.

Qualaco's ISO 9001 consulting guides companies through the complicated process of certification. ICP went through an eight-month process that has led to an improvement in all operations of the company. Managers and employees have all been trained to understand the planning process and the importance of communication in the process of implementing new quality management standards.

Certification will give ICP the opportunity to run more efficiently for the benefit of employees and clients. A quality policy that is now in place details expectations in a clear manner, and employees have been trained on these new standards to ensure that everyone in the company is working up to these new expectations.

Evaluation of the use of equipment and materials is included in this process. ICP is now able to improve efficiency through analysis of the use of materials and equipment. Clients will receive quicker, more efficient services from a business that has already established a reputation for great service.

According to Esther Hyde, Project Manager at ICP, "ISO 9001:2008 certification gives our clients the confidence that we are maintaining the very best practices and processes to meet their packaging needs, Qualaco consultants lent their knowledge and expertise to provide an invaluable service during all stages of this certification process." Qualaco, a leading national consulting firm worked with ICP managers to help everyone in the company understand the implications of certification. Consultants remain available to answer any questions that ICP may have about their new Quality Management System following certification.

ICP is a minority-owned business that has been successfully meeting the needs of clients in the petrochemical industry since 2004. The highly-trained, knowledgeable staff at ICP has over 45 years of combined experience in tasks including packaging, blending, warehousing and distribution. The proximity of ICP to Houston allows the business to serve some of the world's largest petrochemical companies. The ISO 9001:2008 certification status that ICP has achieved with the help of Qualaco will allow the company to provide clients with the best service possible.
