ABBYY Language Services Releases New Solution for Automating Legal Translation

ABBYY Language Services announces the release of ABBYY Legal Translation for automated multilingual support of legal translations.

2014-02-23
MILPITAS, CA, February 23, 2014 (Press-News.org) This document recognition and translation solution may be used as a protected cloud or freestanding server system. The new product will be of particular interest to legal firms and service providers, corporate legal departments, and companies active in document management software and legal automation.

ABBYY Language Services demonstrated the solution at the LegalTech Trade Show, the largest legal technology event on the North American market, held in New York (USA) on February 4 to 6. Visitors had the chance to see the solution presented by Ivan Smolnikov, company's CEO, at the booth of ABBYY and ABBYY Language Services.

The new product dramatically cuts costs and streamlines the handling of multilingual documents. ABBYY's OCR technology enables Legal Translation users to work even with scanned documents and PDF files. With all the advantages of machine translation technology instantly available, legal users can get the gist of any document from any language. Documents can be sent in just one click for professional post-editing to be polished up to human translation quality - performed by a team of highly qualified experts in real time.

Access to the solution is available through the Web interface at legal.abbyy-ls.com, through a special mobile app, or directly from corporate information systems (after integration). In addition, at the trade show ABBYY Language Services presented a scanner specially integrated with Legal Translation, scanning, recognizing, and translating paper documents at the press of a button.

"Many legal companies today are flooded with documents: they have to handle ever-increasing volumes of content in various languages. But there's a way to make e-discovery and litigation easier. We decided to integrate ABBYY's OCR technology, our machine translation developments, and our experience in providing linguistic services to support multilingual document management and cut corporate costs for processing and translating documents. The new solution offers the opportunity to read all documents and send out only the truly important ones for professional translation. We are pleased with the interest we have already seen from American companies, who saw first-hand at LegalTech what our solution is capable of," said Ivan Smolnikov, CEO of ABBYY Language Services.
