Five Patients Undergo Knee Replacements from Parkview Community Hospital

After recent joint replacement surgeries, five patients speak about their satisfaction with the procedures undergone at Parkview Community Hospital.

2014-02-26
RIVERSIDE, CA, February 26, 2014 (Press-News.org) Five patients recently underwent knee replacement surgeries at Parkview Community Hospital. After their successful surgeries, the patients spoke out about their satisfaction with the care at Parkview Community Hospital. The Riverside, California medical center is known for its joint replacement surgeries, ranking among the top 10% of hospitals in the nation for joint replacement in 2011. Parkview Community Hospital has also received the HealthGrades Joint Replacement Excellence Award, and achieved a 5-Star rating for two years running for both hip and knee replacement, and for overall joint replacement.

Alison Agins, a partial knee replacement patient, spoke about her satisfaction with Dr. Shoji's makoplasty surgery. Noted Agins about her Parkview Community Hospital surgery, "I was in such pain for the last year, and I was taking lots of pain medicine. And now, everything is just fantastic." Free of pain medication, Agins credits her speedy recovery to Dr. Shoji and the caring team at Parkview Community Hospital.

Jean Boydston, who received a total knee replacement, acknowledged how much more pleasant her stay at Parkview Community Hospital was, compared to other treatment centers. "If you have to have a hospital stay or surgery, it can be unpleasant, but this was the best experience you could have! Everything was very pleasant and comfortable, and right on time. I especially liked that I had the same nurses every day on each shift--they don't rotate the nurses to other floors or areas, you will always see the same friendly faces." Parkview Community Hospital considers this kind of consistency to be one important way of ensuring high quality, consistent patient care, allowing the nursing team to become familiar with each patient's needs.

Part of undergoing a joint replacement surgery at Parkview Community Hospital is the option to attend hospital orientation classes in advance of your procedure. May Wodtley took advantage of this Parkview Community Hospital offering and found it very helpful in advance of her knee replacement surgery. Remarked Wodtley, "They took us on a tour of the hospital and where I would be so I knew exactly what to expect, before and after. I was able to talk to others who were going to have the same surgery and it was a good time!"

The team at Parkview Community Hospital consistently does their best to ensure patient comfort during the surgery and rehabilitation process. Knee replacement patient Sperry MacNaughton even discovered a great surprise, noting that not only were his nurses wonderful, "the food was delightful! That was definitely a nice surprise in a hospital."

The fifth knee replacement patient, Jack Graber particularly highlighted the strength of the rehabilitative care team during his stay at Parkview Community Hospital. "Jose and Brandon, my physical therapists, were like brothers to me!" he noted. "They were positive and even joked around with me, but they were all business when it came to my therapy and really helped me understand why physical therapy is so important to a successful surgery." It is this combination of care and camaraderie that makes Parkview Community Hospital such a successful center for joint replacement surgery.

About: Parkview Community Hospital is a medical center in Riverside, CA.

Dentists Offer Dental Implants In South Pasadena Dentist Office

While tooth loss is a common problem, it's uncommon to ignore the problem. There are many reasons a patient should fill a missing space in the mouth, not just because of a pretty smile.
