Dearly Departed: For Anyone Who's Lost A Loved One, There's A Message Waiting For You

Darryl Anka, CEO of Zia Films, Interviewed by Debbi Dachinger on DARE To DREAM Radio. He Discusses his new Film "Dearly Departed."

2014-02-26
LOS ANGLES, CA, February 26, 2014 (Press-News.org) Darryl Anka, CEO of Zia Films, recently shot a feature film as a writer-director-producer, called "DEARLY DEPARTED," which is currently in post-production. "DEARLY DEPARTED" is a fictional documentary, shot as though the film crew took a camera into the spirit world and interviewed dead people to get their take on life after death.

What happens after we die? Are we greeted by family and friends when we cross over? Can we contact those we've left behind? Do we reincarnate? "DEARLY DEPARTED" explores these questions and more through encounters with a wide variety of spirits from all walks of life. A video of the trailer is available for viewing at kickstarter.com: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/592267588/dearly-departed

Darryl Anka started his Hollywood career as a special effects designer working on such films as Star Trek: The Motion Picture, I Robot, Pirates of the Caribbean, Live Free or Die Hard and Iron Man. More recently, Besides the fictional documentary about the afterlife called "Dearly Departed," Zia Films is currently in production on a documentary about channeling and extraterrestrial contact, based on two UFO sightings within one week of each other and subsequent experiences.

He is an internationally known channeller who's conducted seminars around the world for the past 30 years. Anka began to communicate, through trance-channeling, with an extra-terrestrial entity called Bashar in 1983. He describes Bashar as existing in a parallel reality, in a time frame that we perceive as the future. The monologues and dialogues with Bashar cover a wide range of topics including human psychology, planetary evolution, metaphysics, and extra-terrestrials. Occasionally, Anka will act as a guest speaker in conferences related to issues such as ET contact.

Anka appeared in the 2008 documentary Tuning In alongside other notable channels such as Lee Carroll. Anka's channeling sessions, private and public, are usually recorded and many have been compiled into various books and audio-visual material. His first book is The New Metaphysics.

Darryl says: "As with any film, the process begins with a concept. "Dearly Departed" is a fictional documentary, shot as if we took a camera into the spirit world and interviewed the spirits of the dead to get their insights on life after death. The characters and dialogue are based on reports of actual near-death experiences, providing a possible glimpse of what may await us in the afterlife. Once we had our concept, script and the generous support of our investors, we began pre-production and quickly realized that, while firmly in the indie low- budget world, our film still had 30 sets and over 600 visual effects shots of glowing auras around our "spirits" to create if we were to realize our vision.

"Rather than raising more funds to complete these daunting tasks, we understood that low-budget filmmaking is all about producing the film for the funds you have while still maintaining quality and not sacrificing the vision. Thus, with a very streamlined crew, including my wife Erica and my brother James (always use the talents and resources at hand), we rolled up our sleeves and forged ahead. Erica took on several producer tasks, making sure we had what we needed to stay within the budget and on schedule."
