WASHINGTON, DC, March 01, 2014 (Press-News.org) For the eleventh consecutive year, Bike and Roll DC will offer the Blossoms by Bike guided ride, created especially for the National Cherry Blossom Festival. The team at Bike and Roll DC is also excited to introduce a brand new tour for the 2014 Cherry Blossom season: Segway into Spring. Come bike and Segway the sea of pink and white blossoms that surround the Potomac Tidal Basin to East Potomac Park and beyond, with the only official bike and Segway tours of the National Cherry Blossom Festival! With rides beginning March 22, celebrate the arrival of spring on two wheels and witness the natural beauty of our Nation's Capital at its peak.
Blossoms by Bike will depart daily from the National Mall location at L'Enfant Plaza from 12:00 - 2:00 pm and 3:00 - 5:00 pm, with an additional weekend tour from 9:30 - 11:30 am. The ride begins and ends at the Bike and Roll National Mall location at 955 L'Enfant Plaza. (Dates offered: March 22 - April 13; Metro: L'Enfant Plaza.)
A longer ride will be offered from Alexandria, beginning at the Old Town Waterfront. Blossoms by Bike River Ride will take you along the scenic Mount Vernon Trail, where you will view the beauty of the blossoms from across the Potomac River. The ride will then continue into DC and around the Tidal Basin before heading back to Alexandria. Blossoms by Bike River Ride is a moderate level ride and is recommended for those 13 years or older. Rides will be offered Friday - Sunday from 1:00 - 4:00 pm (Dates offered: March 22 - April 13; Metro: King Street to the free King Street Trolley).
Segway into Spring is truly a one-of-a-kind tour; keeping in line with the Festival's energetic "Step into Spring" motif, Segway into Spring allows customers to peruse the beautiful blossoms on a 1.5 hour Segway tour. This new ride will depart from the National Mall location at L'Enfant Plaza from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm, 2:00 - 3:30 pm, and 4:30 - 6:00 pm, with an additional weekend tour from 9:00 - 10:30 am. Riders must be 16 years of age or older for this tour. The ride begins and ends at the National Mall location. (Dates offered: March 22 - April 13; Metro: L'Enfant Plaza.)
