Peacocks and Pearl Lowe Launch Must-Have Party Dress

Fashion Designer Pearl Lowe reveals inspiration behind dress from her new Peacocks Christmas collection

GLASGOW, SCOTLAND, November 13, 2010

Pearl Lowe has today revealed the inspiration behind the must-have prom dress from her fabulous new Christmas collection for leading value fashion retailer Peacocks.

The black lace dress is a replica of the show-stopping GBP3,000 bridesmaid's dress that her daughter Daisy Lowe wore to her mother's wedding to Supergrass drummer Danny Goffey in 2008. At a much more affordable GBP45, and with a waiting list already in place, the Peacocks version is sure to sell out fast.

The dress has been wowing the UK fashion press with extensive coverage in a wide range of high profile titles.

OK featured stunning images of Daisy modelling the dress, along with shots of Pearl's celebrity fans, many of whom have been spotted wearing the black and cream Peter Pan collar dress from the AW 2010 collection. This is the dress that prompted Courtney Love to phone Pearl personally, demanding that one be sent to her as quickly as possible! Other celebrities photographed in the vintage-inspired dress include Holly Willoughby and Hilary Alexander, fashion doyenne of The Daily Telegraph.

Hello also showcased the prom dress, alongside a range of model shots from the ten-piece Christmas collection, including the gorgeous black and white bow detail crepe dress and leopard print faux fur coat, which are sure to be best-sellers.

On ITV's This Morning, the prom dress made an appearance on the catwalk as part of a feature on lace - one of the biggest trends for winter. Along with the lace dress, resident fashion expert Jason Gardiner also highlighted Peacocks' large faux fur bag as the perfect way to accessorise this winter.
