Military Veterans Launch Tech Startup Company Br8kthroo with GPS Dog Collar
2014-03-06
SAN ANTONIO, TX, March 06, 2014 (Press-News.org) Br8kthroo, a products and software firm founded by U.S. military veterans, announces the launch of its company and the development of a new GPS dog collar. The TechyDogs collar uses real-time data from the Global Positioning System, ZigBee and social media to enable pet owners to stay connected with their dogs.

Br8kthroo counts three military vets among its ranks: CEO and co-founder Eliud Lamboy; Robert Spracale, Chief Operating Officer; and Jeremy Paul, Chief Technology Officer. Entrepreneur Lamboy, a registered nurse, brings healthcare expertise and a passion for technology. Spracale, also an entrepreneur, founded a medical professional recruiting company prior to joining Br8kthroo. Paul, leader of the TechyDogs team, previously used his computer networking expertise to improve connectivity at Ballad Hospital during his deployment in Iraq in 2009.

TechyDogs Collar is designed primarily to keep tabs on a pet's daily activities, based on readings from the device's onboard gyroscope and accelerometer. "Details about the dog's actions transmit from the TechyDogs Collar via the wireless ZigBee network to the pet owner's social media accounts," said Lamboy. "The comments will appear as posts from the dog's perspective as he goes for a walk or engages in other activities.

"Br8kthroo is preparing to raise additional development funds through the crowdsourcing website Rockethub, beginning March 6, 2014. "Br8kthroo's goal is to develop, market and produce 100,000 TechyDogs Collar units at a price of $100 by October 31, 2014," said Lamboy. The crowdfunding project can be found at http://www.rockethub.com/projects/40658-techydogs-collar.

On the software side, Br8kthroo is developing its Real Time Visual Management application for use in call centers, with a targeted release date in June 2014. RTVM will use gamification to encourage more productive behavior from employees.

"Our initial goal is to sell 500 RTVM licenses to 100 call centers," noted company co-founder and president Saul Villanueva. "Employees will use RTVM to enter profiles similar to those used in gaming systems like Xbox and PlayStation, and managers will view visually pleasing graphical data to help them make real-time decisions more easily."

Br8kthroo is a products and software company focused on designing products and solutions in line with current market trends. The company's goal is to use technology to find innovative solution to everyday problems. The team designs products and software solutions to meet needs they see in the current market. The TechyDogs Collar is its latest project. To learn more visit www.techydogs.com.
