'Andre Reyna Make a Difference' 4th Annual Car Wash to Benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida

The event is in remembrance of Andre Reyna, who was tragically killed in a car accident on October 22, 2009 at the age of 21. All proceeds raised benefit his favorite charity, The Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

2014-03-06
ORLANDO, FL, March 06, 2014 (Press-News.org) The 4th annual 'Andre Reyna Make a Difference' Car Wash will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, at T.G.I. Friday's located at 13400 S. Orange Blossom Trail Orlando, FL, and will benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. The community event is in remembrance of Andre Reyna, who was tragically killed in a car accident on October 22, 2009 at the age of 21.

"Andre's greatest passion in life was helping others, particularly those who were less fortunate. The annual car wash was started not only as a way to remember Andre on the one year anniversary of his passing, but to carry out his legacy by raising money for one his favorite charities, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida," Andre's mother, Odalys Reyna said.

All of the proceeds raised from the donation-only car wash will go directly to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is a private, nonprofit organization that collects and distributes donated food to more than 500 nonprofit partner agencies in six Central Florida counties: Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia. Andre was an active volunteer at Second Harvest Food Bank for five years, participating in special events, volunteering in the office and as a food sorter at local food bank drives.

The Orlando-based auto justice and personal injury law firm of Michael T. Gibson, P.A., along with several other local businesses have made donations to sponsor this event. T.G.I. Friday's will supply the location for the car wash and also donate free appetizer coupons to every attendee who receives a car wash.

About the 'Andre Reyna Make a Difference' Annual Car Wash:

The 'Andre Reyna Make a Difference' Car Wash was started by Andre Reyna's parents, Vidal and Odalys Reyna and his sister, Vanessa Reyna one year after he was tragically killed in a car accident on October 22nd, 2009. Andre studied Political Science at UCF and was in his final year of college. Upon graduation he planned on joining the Peace Corps. He was an avid volunteer, dedicating his time to more than 15 non-profit organizations in Orlando. Andre's passion for helping others began at the tender age of nine when he was introduced to various charity organizations through his church youth group. This event is held annually for his family, friends and the community to honor Andre and the legacy he left through his community activism and involvement, while also raising money for his favorite charity, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
