New Stress Relief opens doors in Santa Monica

2014-03-07
SANTA MONICA, CA, March 07, 2014 (Press-News.org) Sherly Sulaiman, a board certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, has opened her new location in Santa Monica. Leveraging her teaching experience in Yoga and Meditation, Sherly expanded her studies and work to include Hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming, giving her a unique perspective and supporting set of skills to address a wide range of maladies, including depression, anxiety, phobias, insomnia, stress and various forms of addictions.

Stress is a reaction within the body to a particular event or situation. It is actually a way for the body to react when placed in certain situations that demand heightened alertness. It can be a useful indicator to warn people of danger and provide the stamina or strength that may be required in such situations.

Physical changes occur to prepare a person for any quick reactions that may be needed. It is a 'stress' response. When accepted and understood, it allows a person to perform well under pressure, particularly for situations such as emergencies, public appearances and exams. It can be hormones releasing to speed up heart rate, breathing rate, blood pressure. Muscles can be placed on alert allowing more blood flow to large muscle groups, pupils may dilate for improved vision and sweat is produced to cool the body.
It only becomes problematic if one over reacts, and cannot easily turn off the responses when it is not required or when a person interprets this response negatively and becomes anxious.

With time, this may wear out the body, leaving a person feeling weak, depleted or overwhelmed. The immune system is weakened and may cause physical illness or depression or both. Someone with anxiety problems may over react to any form of stress. If someone is frequently tense, upset, worried or stressed, it may be a sign of anxiety.
New Stress Relief will help their clients resolve stress as it is well known that 'prevention is the best cure' for stress. Their aim is to remind and help their clients get easier access to the resources within, so that there is less stress in general the potential of stress in the future is minimized or prevented.

They will help their clients change their beliefs so that they can accept 'stress' signals and view challenges and conflicts as a part of life. They will also discover and resolve what obstacles their clients may have that have been preventing this.

Sherly also conducts workshops and teaches classes to address a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, phobias, insomnia, stress, smoking, weight loss, past life regression and various forms of addictions.
