Phillip Russo Transitions to CEO as NAFA Continues Realignment

Change in position marks another step in a reorganization devoted to the advancement of the association.

2014-03-09
PRINCETON, NJ, March 09, 2014 (Press-News.org) NAFA Fleet Management Association (NAFA) announced today that Phillip E. Russo, CAE, has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer, transitioning from his former position of Executive Director.

"For several years, NAFA has had a very aggressive strategic plan that called for the creation of many new programs, as well as the expansion of existing programs, within the Association," explained NAFA President Claude Masters, CAFM. "In January, NAFA announced the addition and realignment of staffing resources to meet the Association's needs. Now, another piece of the puzzle is in place for NAFA, as Phil assumes duties as Chief Executive Officer."

Russo's primary focus as CEO will be to help develop NAFA's vision, ensure the proper resources are in place to realize that vision, and expand NAFA's reach.

"I am thrilled to take on these new responsibilities," Russo said. "I believe NAFA is truly on the verge of leaping from 'good' to 'great' and am very thankful that Claude and the entire NAFA Board of Trustees has given me the resources to make that happen. Their vote of confidence is tremendously gratifying and I will do everything I can to make sure we exceed everyone's expectations."

Most recently, James Marks, CAE, has been hired as NAFA's new Chief Operations Officer to handle the day-to-day operational oversight and direction of the staff.

As with many associations of the past decade, NAFA has experienced a shift in volunteer capacity, resulting in the need to add staff and contractors to complete work projects. Russo noted, "These staff additions and changes will put all the right people in the right seats and help to accelerate the realization of NAFA's goals, objectives, and vision."
