Williams F1 and Power Plate launch a high octane collaboration in Dubai

Formula One fan's in the Middle East can now accelerate their fitness with the newest object of desire - a limited edition Williams Power Plate machine.

LONDON, ENGLAND, November 14, 2010

Al Kamda unveiled this new high octane collaboration at a glittering launch party last night ahead of the finale of the F1 season in Abu Dhabi this weekend. The event was attended by a host of key F1 personnel including retired Williams & Red Bull driver David Coulthard, as well as Power Plate's founder Guus van der Meer and Formula One Driver Human Performance Expert for AT&T Williams, Nicholas Harris.

The result of a partnership forged between two companies committed to performance through technology and design, this exclusive Power Plate pro6 machine is finished in the distinctive Williams livery, and equipped with the newest fitness innovation, proMOTION technology.

The Williams name has been synonymous with performance in the motor-racing world since the late 1970s, while Power Plate International, global leader in Acceleration Training technology, has set the standard in vibration training equipment since its launch a decade ago.

AT&T Williams driver Rubens Barichello and other team members now use Power Plate machines as part of their fitness training, to help them stay at the top of their game. "I can really feel the benefits of the Power Plate machine, especially for stretching. Usually I feel stiff after a race, and can have trouble getting out of the car but this helps me feel looser and more flexible. It's also a great way to improve core strength, essential for coping with the enormous G-forces caused by racing at high speeds," says Rubens Barrichello.

Nicholas Harris, team trainer and Formula One Driver Human Performance Expert explains, "The key thing we seek to achieve in our physical and mental preparation for the AT&T Williams drivers and pit crew is to improve 'capacity'. Put simply this means 'more work - less effort'! Every time we do a training session we try and stress the body. The Power Plate machine is key in helping us achieve this and has proved to be invaluable!"

Founder and Chairman of Power Plate International Guus van der Meer adds, "We are thrilled to be working with Williams. Formula One drivers are elite athletes and we are well-placed to offer them access to a cutting-edge fitness technology that can help them gain that all important competitive edge. We are also delighted to offer armchair Formula One fans in the Middle East the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of their heroes and improve their fitness on their own limited edition Williams Power Plate machine."

The Williams Power Plate pro6 model is the must-have for those who appreciate the very best in design and performance. Reg Cox, CEO, Al Kamda, said: "Al Kamda is proud to be associated with the regional introduction of the Power Plate pro6 machine, and particularly the Williams racing edition. We expect very strong interest in this machine, based on its solid performance record among the world's most elite athletes."
