Axceleon to Present at HP-CAST 15

Axceleon presents at HP-CAST 2010 with a focus on optimizing workflows utilizing GPU's.

2010-11-15
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA, November 15, 2010 (Press-News.org) Axceleon, a leader in high performance cloud computing solutions for computational grids, render farms and cloud environments announced today that it will be presenting at HP-CAST 15 (the HP Worldwide HPC User Group Conference) in New Orleans, Louisiana on November 13th. HP-CAST is being held in conjunction with the SC2010 supercomputing show also being held in New Orleans. This year HP-CAST will highlight a special focus session and keynote address on "energy efficient clusters and from mid-range to peta-scale systems". The topic of the Axceleon presentation is "Optimizing workflows utilizing GPU resources for image processing and how this is used in the 3D Animation Industry today and the expanding impact on other industries"

"We are very pleased to be invited for a second time to present at HP-CAST. HP and Axceleon have had a close relationship since 2002 with many mutual deployments around the globe. As one can see the role of the GPU is expanding quickly in the image processing arena. The GPU is being used in 3D animation development more frequently for preview and pre-visualization of the artist's work before final rendering on a CPU based render farm. We see the GPU's role expanding in 3D as GPU only renderers like Octane from Refractive Software begin to enter the market. Axceleon is 100% committed to the 3D animation industry and will continue to support hybrid renderers, renderers which utilize CPUs and GPUs, as we move to integrate GPU only renderers such as Octane and other GPU enabled applications into our EnFuzion and CloudFuzion products ", said Michael Duffy, president and COO of Axceleon. "Axceleon was the first to announce the ability to build complete clusters in the cloud in less than 5 minutes using our CloudFuzion product. This was more around CPU based machines, however we also have the ability to launch one-click complete GPU clusters the same way in cloud environments", commented Michael Duffy.
