BENDIGO, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA, March 20, 2014 (Press-News.org) Dr. Michael F. Langdon, Chief Executive Officer of Bendigo Access Employment, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in disability employment and training.
With 28 years of experience in education and management, Dr. Langdon makes an outstanding CEO of Bendigo Access Employment (BAE), a not-for-profit organisation that provides employment and training services for people with a disability, injury or illness. In this position, he oversees day-to-day operations as well as the strategic development of the company. He is in charge of spearheading the development of social enterprises (including Access Catering) to assist people with disabilities to become job ready and find sustainable employment. Through his leadership, participants are offered training and support into jobs.
Dr. Langdon also leads BAE's successful Registered Training Organisation (VOTES) as well as the newly merged Continuing Education Bendigo (CEB). In addition to vocational training for business and adults, through direct delivery and sponsorship of more than 2,500 secondary students, VOTES is one of the largest private Vet In Schools providers in Victoria. CEB provides many training opportunities to people with disabilities as well as vocational education and training to business and individuals. Aside from directly helping with employment and training services, Dr. Langdon, through his leadership of the internationally accredited organisation, assesses solutions for employment issues, provides backup and support after employees are engaged, develops strategies for risk management and develops return to work programs including occupational rehabilitation, job redesign and workplace modifications.
Dr. Langdon received a Ph.D. from La Trobe University in Australia. Dr. Langdon makes a significant contribution to the local community through serving on numerous Boards and is currently a director on Workspace Australia Board, which won the 2011 Australian Incubator of the Year. Dr. Langdon was reappointed chairman of Bendigo Health Board of Directors in 2011 and is currently overseeing the construction of a new $630 million hospital, the largest ever health building project in regional Victoria.
