LISBON, PORTUGAL, March 29, 2014 (Press-News.org) AlarmPad, a new alarm app for Android phones, is the first app ever to take advantage of calendar hashtags, inspired by Twitter, in the setting of its alarms, and it eliminates the need to update both a calendar and an alarm.
This powerful new feature works by allowing users to set alarms based on the title of their calendar events, as long as a hashtag is present. If a user, for example, works at different hours on different days, they no longer need to set their work hours in their calendar and different alarms for each day in their alarm app. They just set one alarm in AlarmPad with the hashtag #work and use that same hashtag as part of the title for the calendar events where they've set their work hours. AlarmPad will automatically monitor the hashtag events and set alarms accordingly. This can apply to any type of event a user may set calendar events for, such as a busy social life (#party), daily chores (#getgroceries), or gym and sport activities (#workout).
AlarmPad's main aim is to make waking up and preparing for an event - whether work or for fun - a little easier. It does so by giving context to each alarm, with weather updates and a list of upcoming appointments, so users can prepare for their day. It allows them to customize their alarm to fit their style and needs, with features such as a gentle ringtone, or speaking a custom message when it goes off. The app is also available in a variety of languages, including English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and German.
AlarmPad is the creation of MindMe Smart Notifications, a company based in Lisbon, Portugal, whose goal is to create apps to notify us of daily tasks with the context that makes them both useful and enjoyable.
