Giorgio Fedon 1919 to Design Space Watch for Orbital Technologies

Italian fashion house, Giorgio Fedon 1919 will design a Space Watch to be used by crew aboard Orbital Technologies' Commercial Space Station

BASEL, SWITZERLAND, March 29, 2014

Modern Concept Watch LLC, manufacturer of luxury watch brand Giorgio Fedon 1919 anounces agreement with Orbital Technologies to develop the GF Space Watch. The watch which is planned to launch at next years BaselWorld will utilize materials found in the contruction of the Space Station. Orbital Technologies intends to has its astronauts wear the time pieces during their missions to the Commercial Space Station, beginning in 2017.

Chief Operating Officer, Stiphan Beher stated, "we are pleased to come to an agreement to develop such a significant time piece with Ramesh Jhunjhnuwala and his team. We feel both entities will bring synergy to this project."

Giorgio Fedon 1919, a luxury Italian leather goods house, established in 1919, has branched in to the watch segment. Fedon time pieces are manufactured by Modern Concept Watch LLC, headed by Ramesh Jhnunjhnuwala, a Hong Kong based businessman.

Orbital Technologies, majority owned by Eric Anderson, a major shareholder in Space Adventures and Planetary Resources, is developing the Commercial Space Station. Partnered with the Russian Federal Space Agency (RosCosmos) and S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation (Energia), developer of the Soyuz space transport module, Mir Space Station and the Russian module of the International Space Station, Orbital Technologies will utilize established technology for its deployment.

The Space Station will be capable of accommodating a crew of seven for periods of up to six months and will orbit at 250 miles above Earth. The Station will also incorporate the world's first Space Hotel.
