GREAT ISLAND, NEBRASKA, April 3, 2014 (Press-News.org) Hope International Services Founder and Executive Director Kathleen Anderson Walk, MD, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in ministry leadership.
Dr. Walk heads Hope International Services, an organization that exists to promote Christian missionary endeavors worldwide, with an emphasis on planting churches through healing crusades, and training Christians and their leaders using international radio and short-term ministry.
Dr. Walk has spent more than 45 years nurturing a growing skill set, which currently allows her to adeptly conduct international radio ministry events and lecture on third world health care needs. Hope International Services is a nonprofit organization that promotes Christian missionary endeavors. After founding Hope International Services, Dr. Walk served as Medical Director and Practice Administrator at the Employer's Health Care Center in Grand Island for 11 years. She also served as an International Medical Director for a new 100-bed hospital in Nigeria, a Locum Tenens for Docs Who Care, and for Staff Care, and at Immanuel Lutheran Hospital, which is now Alegent Immanuel Medical Center from 1997 to 2000. Dr. Walk has served as a consultant for Wellness International for 16 years, as a Physician and Medical Director for United Health Care of Omaha for two years, and as Medical Director for Northwest Clinic in Omaha. Dr. Walk was a Resource Director for Karla Jordan, and she founded Hope International Services in 1987. She served as Medical Director and Administrator of Employers' Healthcare Center, Grand Island, Ne. from 2000 to 2011.
Dr. Walk lectured on Nutrition and Health Issues from 1981 to 2011, served as a physician for the Northwest Clinic of Omaha for 14 years, and served as founder, Medical Director, Physician and Program Director for the LAMB Hospital and Rural Health Development Program in Parbatipur, Bangladesh from 1970 to 1981. She was the Medical Director, Physician, and a member of the Medical Relief Team for International Red Cross in Nigeria, a House Physician for Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, and a Physician with Park Lane Medical Clinic.
Dr. Walk has long been committed to healing and teaching the word of God. She hosts a weekly radio show that is heard in 180 countries, and has served as a physician in third world countries, including Nigeria and Bangladesh. Dr. Walk did volunteer relief work in Nigeria during the Nigerian-Biafran war, from 1969 to 1970, and was the director of a new hospital that opened in Nigeria in 1999. In 1996, she was given an Ibo name meaning "She who helps all those in need." In 2004, Dr. Walk built an orphanage in Malawi. She has also established new churches in Africa and Russia, developed a rural health program in Bangladesh, and built Hospitals in Bangladesh and Nigeria. She has published her poetry with Cambridge of England, and is currently working on her third book, an autobiography titled "Beyond Abundance." Her writing is published under her pen name, Kathy A. Bliese. She is the medical director and staff physician at West Holt Medical Services and covers the ER at West Holt Rural Hospital, Atkinson, Ne., since March of 2001. She has traveled to Pakistan twice and established a primary school for disenfranchised children there in 2011. She will soon be returning
to Pakistan.
