ASPIRA of PA Launches a Technology Recycling Program
2014-04-03
PHILADELPHIA, PA, April 03, 2014 (Press-News.org) "Upcycling" is the latest trend in charitable giving through technology recycling, and ASPIRA of PA is propelling the effort. They have launched a network-wide fundraiser to "upcycle" old and/or broken cell phones, laptops, iPads, e-Readers, iPods, etc. The donated goods are typically refurbished and distributed to areas where they still have value. Upcycling is also awesome for the planet, as it's much more environmentally friendly than throwing these types of things away. Can you believe that 400,000 cellphones are thrown away each day? You can help turn that kind of waste into funding for ASPIRA's network.

The Upcycle Program is run by Causes International (CI), a green cause company committed to environmental stewardship and charitable giving. Upcycling creates funding for non-profits and charities by extending the life cycle of electronics. The process is safe, secure, and guarantees 100% data destruction while preventing items from going into landfills and poisoning the planet.

There are several ways you can support ASPIRA's Upcycling Program, including sharing ASPIRA's charity URL, spreading the word of this fundraiser within your networks, getting a business to sponsor ASPIRA as their charity for this effort, and donating devices yourselves. All device donations are 100% tax deductible.

ASPIRA's Upcycle URL is: http://www.causesinternational.com/charity/aspiraPA.

How it works: Visit the URL, print a FREE shipping label, mail the device.

Yes, it's that easy! And the best part is that it costs NOTHING to participate. This is a great way for people to support nonprofit and school funding simply by getting rid of things that are broken and/or that they aren't using - no dollars out of pocket. Most people wonder what devices can be upcycled and the integrity of data destruction on each device. Answers to those questions and others can be found at the URL provided. Anyone, anywhere, anytime can participate, so please pass on the URL above.

Would you prefer to drop off a donation in person? Donation bins for your old technology are located at each ASPIRA facility:

ASPIRA Headquarters - 4322 North 5th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140

ASPIRA Educational Campus - 6301 North 5th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19120

Antonia Pantoja Charter School - 4101 North American Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140

John B. Stetson Charter School - 3200 B Street, Philadelphia, PA 19134

Olney Charter High School - 100 West Duncannon Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19120

ASPIRA of PA greatly appreciates your support of its network, of Causes International, and of our environment.

ASPIRA, Inc. of Pennsylvania is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that seeks to empower the North Philadelphia community through advocacy, and the education and leadership development of its youth. In addition to its vast array of extended learning programs, ASPIRA of PA also manages five charter schools and a preschool. Please visit http://aspirapa.org to learn more.
