White Bear Lake Funeral Home an Unlikely Nominee for Customer Service Award

ST. PAUL, N, April 09, 2014 (Press-News.org) For the second year in a row, Mueller Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation has been nominated by their community for the title of Best Small Business Customer Service in White Bear Lake Magazine's 2014 "Best of White Bear Lake" reader's choice survey.

Locals will learn who takes home the top prize between Mueller Memorial, Indulge Salon and Frattalone's Ace Hardware on April 16th at the White Bear Lake Magazine event at Manitou Station. It's a tough field, but the White Bear Lake funeral home's staff says they are honored just by the nomination.

"Best Small Business Customer Service is a broad category and really any type of business is eligible," says Scott Mueller, owner of Mueller Memorial. "There isn't a Best Funeral Home category, so we're nominated along with an interesting variety of service-oriented businesses. Our constant challenge and goal is to try to provide a meaningful customer experience at one of the worst times in peoples' lives. This nomination feels like recognition of that, and it means a lot to us."

In recent years, the team at Mueller Memorial has been making changes to elevate the level of service provided at their White Bear Lake and St. Paul funeral homes. Innovations include better connectivity through a custom website at MuellerMemorial.com, hosting services to help visitors feel more like a guest in a home, and community outreach through social media and local events.

And according to Mueller, there is still more in the works. "We're really enthusiastic about the new service offerings we're working on in 2014, such as facility improvements and programs that will help make the planning and funeral experience easier and more manageable for our customers."

Mueller wrote the book on how to plan a funeral--literally. He recently completed "What to Know Before You Go: An Insider's Answers to the Most Commonly Asked Questions About Death, Grief and Funerals" to help people be better prepared making funeral decisions or planning a funeral service for themselves or someone in their care.

His book will be released in May in conjunction with Mueller Memorial's "Experience the Best of White Bear" Giveaway, which will include free copies of the book and many other local prizes. The contest will be open to everyone and winners will have the chance to experience service from one of several "Best of" nominees.

Mueller Memorial has been serving the Saint Paul community since 1946, when Al and Connie Mueller opened the original Mueller Mortuary on the corner of Maria and East 7th Street in St. Paul.
