2014-04-17
COLUMBUS, OH, April 17, 2014 (Press-News.org) Knowmedge, a video-based internal medicine board review question bank, is excited to announce a partnership with the authors of Cracking the USMLE Step 3 to publish high-yield board exam content on the Knowmedge website. The partnership allows each party to connect with a broader audience while continuing their mission of enhancing and improving medical education. In addition, the agreement creates a framework for each company to work together in order to help advance medical education.

Cracking the USMLE Step 3 is a leading textbook for medical students and residents preparing for the USMLE Step 3 Board Exam. The book was published in 2012 by Paul Kaloostian MD, Sean Kaloostian MD, and Carolyn Kaloostian MD and was intended to provide a more concise and focused text that students would commonly see on the exam as well as in clinical practice. Dr. Paul Kaloostian states "We are really excited to be working with the Knowmedge team to continue our mission of helping medical students succeed through high-yield and highly relevant medical education. We recognize how challenging medical education is and how detailed and confusing it can be to learn from a lot of the textbooks in the market today. Cracking the USMLE Step 3 is a concise and hard hitting book that is intended to give medical students precisely the information they need for their board exam and for clinical practice. The Knowmedge team operates with the same mission of helping students succeed through engaging and high-yield internal medicine practice questions and video explanations. That's why I'm excited about this collaborative opportunity as we work together to improve medical education!"

Since its inception, Knowmedge has focused on providing high-yield quality internal medicine practice questions with video and text explanations to students, residents and internists. The Knowmedge platform was launched as an alternative to existing text-based internal medicine question banks. Dr. Ravi Bhatia, co-founder of Knowmedge states "We are thrilled about working together with the authors of Cracking the USMLE Step 3. There is a small but growing movement for Free Open Access Medical Education (#FOAMed). Over the past year, we have actively taken part in this movement through our blog as well as through Twitter, Facebook, Google+, and Pinterest. Our goal is to continue building on that to reach more students who are truly interested in building their "knowmedge", as we say. Cracking the USMLE Step 3 is a high-yield and highly concise text book for Step 3 and Internal Medicine Board review. I am certain our subscribers and readers of our blog will find it highly beneficial for their board exams."
