AsiaRooms.com - International Fashion Jewellery and Accessories Fair Coming to Dubai

Dubai's International Exhibition Centre will host a major jewellery and watch exhibition next month.

2010-11-20
DUBAI, UAE, November 20, 2010 (Press-News.org) Shopaholics and members of the trade will be heading to the International Fashion Jewellery and Accessories Fair in Dubai next month.

The expo is scheduled to take place between December 13th and 15th 2010 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre, with the event also incorporating the International Watch and Clock Fair.

According to the organisers, thousands of buyers from across the world have flocked to the exhibition since it first took place in 2004, with members of the public and professionals - such as manufacturers, retailers and department stores - equally welcome to attend.

However, if it proves as popular as previous editions - the January 2010 show attracted more than 7,000 people - then prospective visitors would be wise to book Dubai hotels for the occasion as soon as possible.

The team behind the expo explained the United Arab Emirates has remained popular with the jewellery and watch-making sectors despite the global economic downturn.

They added Dubai is particularly important, describing the emirate as "the gateway and trading hub which offers access to a market of tremendous potential for overseas companies".

People planning to check out the show can head to the International Exhibition Centre from 10:00 local time each day, with doors closing at 19:00.

For more information on this event, visit the International Fashion Jewellery and Accessories Fair website or contact the organisers on (+971) 4 340 6888.

At the Houston Crime Lab, a Backlog in the Thousands

The crisis in the Houston Crime Lab continues. In the most recent development, the Houston Chronicle reports the lab still has a backlog of thousands of untested rape kits dating to 1996, as well as 969 newer criminal cases awaiting DNA testing. This backlog grows at a rate of 75 unperformed tests per day. This tale began back in November 2002 (the problems actually extend back to the 1980s), when TV news reports questioned the quality of the forensic science work in the lab. This resulted in a shakeup and an independent investigation. The final report acknowledged that ...

In October 2010, Smadi was sentenced to 24 years in prison for attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction. Although the sentence may seem severe, it could have been longer if ...
