2010-11-20
MIAMI, FL, November 20, 2010 (Press-News.org) Spiritual Seeker Book Swap (SpiritualSeekerBookSwap.com) is not your mother's book swap. Launched November 1, the site enables people from all over the world to share spiritual knowledge and wisdom by trading spiritually educational books with one another. The site, which features books on everything from astral travel to psychology to Toltec wisdom, is currently the only one of its kind.

Based on a point system, Spiritual Seeker Book Swap is a unique resource for people who wish to expand and share their spiritual knowledge with others from across the world. Each member is responsible for shipping their own books; every shipped book earns a point with which a member can then request a book. If a particular book isn't up for trade, Pollak provides a link to Amazon.com where it can be purchased.

"Membership in Spiritual Seeker Book Swap is completely free; just sign up and start swapping," says Sarah Pollak, the multimedia designer whose thirst for spiritual knowledge led her to start the site.

Pollak started the service because she was inspired by a small book store in Santa Monica. "I wanted a store just like it, with books from floor to ceiling. I wanted to capture that magic, so I decided to put my multimedia experience to work and create a digital version. The only difference? The books are free," says Pollak. "I think everyone searches for relief in their life - and it shouldn't cost anything."

SpiritualSeekerBookSwap.com is dedicated to providing a diverse collection. Members are invited to post any book related to spirituality - even those that appear loosely tied, like Marianne Williamson's A Course in Weight Loss: 21 Spiritual Lessons for Surrendering your Weight Forever - and that's what gives the site its unique punch.

Book swaps have been around virtually as long as there have been books; what makes this site exclusive of all others is that it caters specifically to those on spiritual quests. All members have a common desire to learn and share their knowledge with others, and it has nothing to do with financial gain.

"I know it's hard to part with books - especially these kinds," says Pollak, "but spiritual searching can take a lot of books. Why not share? Besides, swapping will save some trees."

Pollak believes so much in spreading the wealth of spiritual knowledge that she even placed her own favorite book on the site to kick things off.

"I started this with all my own books, including my favorite: An Extraordinary Absence, by Jeff Foster. His work is amazing, and I want others to benefit from his words just as I did." Pollak hopes to see the book resurface on SpiritualSeekerBookSwap.com soon.

Sarah Pollak, Owner of Spiritual Seeker Book Swap, is also a 3d Animator, Modeler, Special Effects Artist, Digital Signage Programmer, 2D Design Specialist and Web Designer.
