LateRooms.com - Cotswold Visitors Set to Enjoy Chippy Jazz

Annual event Chippy Jazz brings free live music to the Cotswolds in late September.

2010-08-28
COTSWOLDS, ENGLAND, August 28, 2010 (Press-News.org) People making Cotswold hotel bookings next month may be planning to attend Chippy Jazz, the annual musical celebration in Chipping Norton.

Now in its 13th year, the event offers visitors the chance to enjoy classic jazz from the 1920s and 1930s at various sites around the picturesque Oxfordshire town.

The live music takes place from 12:00 to 23:00 BST, before the entertainment culminates in a special evening concert at the Chipping Norton Theatre.

All performances are free to attend during the daytime, while tickets for the closing extravaganza can be purchased for GBP16.

Running from 20:00 to 22:30, the concert will feature veteran jazzman and bandleader Terry Lightfoot as the headline act, with support from Martin Litton and his Rhythm Aces.

Other performers taking part in this year's Chippy Jazz include Four Play Jazz, The Spats Langham Trio, Dickie White's Jazz All-stars and The Dave Barry Jazz Band.

Before Lightfoot's performance, the theatre is due to stage a youth jazz bands event between 14:00 and 17:00.

All proceeds from Chippy Jazz 2010 will be donated to two charities - local organisation the Lawrence Home Nursing Team and national body Help for Heroes.

For more information on this event, visit the Chippy Jazz website or contact the organisers on 01608 642350.
