Flight Line Radio Makes WarBird Planes Talk.

At the Alpena Air Show (Wings Over Alpena) spectators received a special treat as they passed in front of the WarBirds on display.

2010-08-28
FT. WAYNE, IN, August 28, 2010 (Press-News.org) Flight Line Radio created audio zones around the various War Bird aircraft on display which included the B-17 "Yankee Lady", the P-51 "Moonbeam McSwine", a pair of V-22 Ospreys and the TBM-3E Avenger Torpedo Bomber "Ida Red."

As spectators strolled down the tarmac they could change the channel on their credit-card sized personal receiver to hear an exclusive, pre-recorded loop which conveyed content of the respective aircraft on display.

Flight Line Radio is a service that allowed visitors at the Alpena Air Show to listen to the air show announcer, Hugh Oldham, the Air Boss, as well as the tower communication, anywhere on the grounds. "The idea of creating "talking aircraft" was discussed early on and was approved almost immediately. "Everyone viewed this as an opportunity to enhance a spectator's experience at the show as well as to provide an educational component" stated Don Costanza, Director of Marketing for FLR Group. Phil Agius, Director of Finance for the Wings Over Alpena Show stated, "we really appreciated the value Flight Line Radio brought to our show. You were fantastic to deal with and your professionalism was evident all weekend long. Your product is a great addition to our show; we're looking forward to WOA 2012 and more Flight Line Radio!"
