PARMA, ITALY, August 28, 2010 (Press-News.org) The professional sommelier course dedicated to Japanese participants and organised by AIS Japan was highly successful. Aspiring sommeliers from the Land of the Rising Sun carried out their "studies" using Bormioli Rocco's special wine tasting glasses. In its capacity as technical sponsor, the company supplied the "educational material", namely wine glasses, glass water tumblers, and all the accessories needed for mastering the art of wine tasting.
In a well-known restaurant in Pescia (Province of Pistoia), the participants attended lessons given by speakers and wine tasters guided by the director Roberto Bellini. The programme was based on three different levels of difficulty: on the first level, subjects ranged from winemaking to wine tasting, on the second level Italian wines were studied region-by-region, with a brief diversion covering wines produced in France and other countries. While at the most advanced level wine-food combinations were studied in depth.
A new edition is planned for the end of October, when once again Bormioli Rocco will work side-by-side with the Italian Sommeliers Association to spread the awareness and the culture of fine wines. For today's and tomorrow's sommeliers, the company offers a series of products conceived for professional use, such as the Premium line of wine glasses: made from fine crystal glass, they have an exceptional shine and transparency, and their ultra-thin glass is designed to heighten the wine savouring experience. This line now includes two new models for valorising the bouquets of rose wines and major reds, called respectively Rose and Montepulciano.
