Those looking to reenter the workforce or advance their skills in video/film production and in the web/interactive industries, are finding adaptability is made easier with the launch of Boulder Digital Arts' Transition certification program

2010-11-24
BOULDER, CO November 24, 2010 (Press-News.org) - The current economy has left many job seekers in a state of career uncertainty. Those looking to reenter the workforce or advance their skills in video/film production, as well as those looking in the web/interactive industries, are finding adaptability is made easier with the launch of Boulder Digital Arts' Transition certification program.

The program - which offers a full curriculum in all the creative disciplines including video/film production and post-production, web/interactive development, digital photography, graphic design and business and marketing topics such as search engine optimization, web marketing and social media - is designed to provide maximum training value in an accelerated format. Transition classes are offered in two formats: all-day Monday through Friday for one week or two evenings a week for five weeks.

"These are not academic courses thick with theory and research," said Boulder Digital Arts founder Bruce Borowsky. "These are skills-based classes where the goal is to take what you've learned and apply it to your job tomorrow."

The classes are taught by working professionals skilled at sharing today's best tools, technology and techniques and emphasize practical knowledge and skills over academics by using a project-based learning approach that combines engaging lectures with hands-on practice. Every Transition course has a clear and concise learning outcome for students. Class sizes are limited to eight students so that the instructor can engage and help with every student.

The next Transitions class offered is video post-production, beginning Nov. 29. In this one-week certificate program, students will learn storytelling techniques, how to edit video in Final Cut Pro, how to create exciting motion graphics, and master productions to tape, DVD and the web. They will also gain the skills necessary to edit video professionally.

Registration fees for the Transition certificate programs are $1,199 per class for BDA members or $1,249 for non-members. After Nov. 24, the cost goes up to $1209 and $1259, respectively. The free is all-inclusive and includes catered meals, mentoring labs and concierge services by BDA staff.
