Young Adult Fantasy Author Wendy Raven McNair Introduces Her Greatly Anticipated Fantasy Novel, Awake, Just in Time for the Christmas and Kwanzaa Season

ATLANTA, GA, November 30, 2010 (Press-News.org) Fantasy Author, Wendy Raven McNair, prepares for a whirlwind holiday book tour to present her newly released novel, Awake, book 2 of the Asleep trilogy.

"Awake is a fantasy story and would be a wonderful gift for this holiday season. The story is about African American teen super beings and the uplifting theme fits in perfectly with Christmas and Kwanzaa because it celebrates family." ~ McNair

Many have complained that over the years Christmas has become too commercialized. Black Friday, the day following Thanksgiving, marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping season and this day is often characterized by images of shoppers stampeding through stores and fighting over material possessions, risking life and limb to obtain the latest "it" item of the year.

"Students form the wrong idea about the holiday season when they see these disturbing images. Both Christmas and Kwanzaa embody higher ideals that have nothing to do with the excess often associated with this season. McNair's book tour includes stops at middle and high schools. She'll present on writing, publishing, and graphic design during author visits at schools in the Cobb County and Fulton County school districts.
