THE GYM Armonk's Spin-A-Thon Raises $2,815 for Cancer Treatment and Research

Dana Farber Cancer Institute receives donation from Westchester County fitness club

ARMONK, NY, August 12, 2010 (Press-News.org) Members of THE GYM Armonk, a premier fitness and health center in Westchester County, recently packed into the club's Spin Room to raise funds and awareness for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. The three hour Spin-A-Thon raised $2,815 which was directly donated to the non-profit organization. The Dana Farber Cancer Institute is devoted to providing cancer patients with the best treatment available, while developing tomorrow's cures through cutting-edge research. The mission of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is to provide expert, compassionate care to children and adults with cancer while advancing the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure, and prevention of cancer and related diseases. THE GYM will continue to support cancer research and treatment throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October. The month-long fundraiser will include a Spin-A-Thon, pink hair extensions, a Taste of the Towns culinary event, Karate Board Breaking, Sage Yoga classes and much more.
