HUTCHINSON, KS, December 06, 2010 (Press-News.org) In a season when most of the world is thinking about giving back and holiday spirit, one young lady has taken things a step further. Diane Potter, a Virtual Assistant based in Kansas, lost her Mother to pancreatic cancer in August of 2010. Grieving and learning to live without her, Diane is learning to move on and accept the truth. Inspired by clients and a single act of kindness done for a friend, she has now launched the Barbara Gives Back campaign in her Mother's name. The purpose of this campaign is to help launch 4 online businesses each year to deserving entrepreneurs. Diane and her team of 38 contractors, will perform $3300 worth of services for the winner absolutely free of charge for a period of 3 months. "At the end of a cycle, we hope to have built the winner a fully functioning website. One that sells, collects names, is informative, and has traffic coming to it." says Potter.
"We charge $55 per hour and our top package is the 20 hour a month retainer. We wanted to make sure we really gave away something of value." Diane mentioned.
When asked why she named the program Barbara Gives Back Potter replied, "I want people to think of my Mom and feel nothing but love and gratefulness in their hearts- just as I do. It's a way for me to do something that I find easy, while helping someone who deserves it, and keep my Mother's memory alive. It's a win-win-win."
How the program works:
The 4 "cycles" of 3 months every year will be January-March, April-June, July-September and October - December. Nominations will be open for 20 days on the company's website prior to the start of another cycle. Nominations were opened on December 1st, 2010 for the first cycle in 2011.
Nomination is free and you can nominate yourself or someone you think is deserving. Rules of nominations are posted on the website as well as the short online application.
"At the end of the cycle the winner will be sent a Barbara Gives Back winner's only coffee mug with a photo of my Mom so they can remember her. We can provide almost anything an entrepreneur needs to start their business online. We're the largest Virtual Assistant Online Marketing Team working on a retainer based model in the US as far as I know." claimed Potter.
