NEW YORK, NY, December 09, 2010 (Press-News.org) The Fix is the story of Eddie Parker, a con man on the run who is looking for his identity, although he doesn't know it. Eddie comes to America in 1949 from Bergen Belsen, a German displacement camp, at the age of eight. He lands on the streets of New York with his family and he quickly learns the rules of the street. He convinces his son, a high school star basketball player, to fix games for the mob. When the plan goes horribly wrong, Eddie is on the run, taking an adventure to save his life.
Mr. Shaw is best known for his most recent work in 2001, the Broadway production of The Gathering starring Hal Linden, which followed the off-Broadway production starring Theodore Bikel. The New York Times hailed The Gathering as "thoughtful, provocative, filled with humor and warmth, fierce drama, [and] potent theatre; [it] entertains as it touches the heart and stimulates the mind." Mr. Shaw made his off-Broadway debut in 1992 with his first comedy A Catered Affair in collaboration with film and Broadway producer George W. George.
The Fix will be released May 10, 2011, by Library Tales Publishing. The book will be available for purchase in bookstores everywhere; pre-sales begin in March 2011.
