KCVI Music Education Charities - Providing Free Music Lessons For Kansas City Children

The Kansas City Vocal Institute is awarding scholarships for free voice lessons for one year to students and their families. Our mission is to provide free music education to the children of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area.

OVERLAND PARK, KS, August 31, 2010 (Press-News.org) The Kansas City Vocal Institute is awarding scholarships for free voice lessons for one year to middle school and high school students and their families in the KC metro area. These scholarships are intended for families who children would like voice lessons, plan on auditioning for regional or state choirs, or want to sing at regional or state solo contests. Our mission is to provide affordable or free music education to the children of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area.

Those who apply will be considered for one of several monthly and yearly scholarships. These scholarships are made possible through private donations and donations from prominent people including performing artists and Pulitzer prize winners. Yearly scholarships provide free weekly voice lessons for one year. Monthly scholarships award $100 every three months toward private voice lessons. Those who are interested should write an essay (min. 2 pages) about why they love music and need the scholarship, submit any references (none required but strongly encouraged), and provide contact information (name, school, email, etc.). The Kansas City Vocal Institute provides affordable and professional music instruction in the Kansas City Metro Area. Lessons are held at area colleges, community centers, and home studios. Our instructors are required to have earned at least a Master's degree in Music or have significant professional performance experience.
